1. What information we collect

1.1 Signly Widget

In short: Signly does not collect, store, or hold any personal data. Our services rely solely on publicly available information from publicly available sources. See ‘Cookie policy – Signly Widget’ and ‘How we use your data – Signly Widget’.

1.1.1 Cookie policy – Signly Widget

We respect you, we don’t track your personal information. Our use of cookies is limited to recording product interaction and recording user state for the Signly widget.  The following six cookies are used to implement local storage of state:

1.2 Signly Website

In short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Website, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Website or otherwise when you contact us.

The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Website, the choices you make and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:

1.2.1 Contact us form

When visitors contact us through the contact forms on the site we collect the data shown in the form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

1.2.2 Booking a meeting or demo

When visitors book a meeting through the action buttons or book a meeting form, this functionality is provided by Microsoft’s bookwithme Online Bookings and Appointment Scheduling service. Their privacy policy is available at https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-GB/privacystatement

1.2.3 Cookie policy – Signly Website

We respect you. We don’t track or hold your personal information however we use Google Analytics on the signly.co website to track and report website traffic (such as session duration, pages accessed per session and the bounce rate of users accessing the site), for marketing insights. See Data Sharing – Signly website, below. 

1.2.4 Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

2. Who we share your data with

We ask you before holding any data on you. We remove it if you ask us to.

We do not share your data with any third pary, except as required by law and as detailed in ‘Where your data is sent’.

3. How long we retain your data

We keep visitor logs for the security purposes described including to help spam detection as described in ‘contacting us’ and to help with cybersecurity threat detection. We keep these logs for up to six months.

4. What rights you have over your data

If you have used the contact us feature, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

In some regions (like the EEA and UK), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; and (iv) if applicable, to data portability. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. To make such a request, please use the contact details provided below. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. If you are under 18 years of age, reside in California, and have a registered account with the Website, you have the right to request removal of unwanted data that you publicly post on the Website. To request removal of such data, please contact us using the contact information provided below, and include the email address associated with your account and a statement that you reside in California. We will make sure the data is not publicly displayed on the Website, but please be aware that the data may not be completely or comprehensively removed from all our systems (e.g. backups, etc.).

5. How we use your data (Where your data is sent)

5.1 Signly webstie

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We do not aggregate, analyse, or store this data for any secondary purposes. 

We may share selected information with Google by using their Google Analytics product, but we will ask you first and only proceed with your explicit consent. Google Analytics doesn’t personally identify individual visitors but can distinguish one visitor from another. 

5.2 Signly widget

We use this public information to provide sign language translations on websites and other platforms. Since we do not collect or hold any personal data, there is no data to share with third parties.
